Learn all about Private Membership Associations (PMAs) from Certified PMA Advisor, Angela Harders.

Written by David Edwards, founder of PMA Power
Adapted by Angela Harders

A Private Membership Association (PMA) is a group of men and/or women collectively asserting and standing upon our God-given rights to life, liberty, and property. Our rights are given to us by God and affirmed by the Constitution of the United States of America in 1789 and amended and ratified by the passage of the Bill of Rights in 1791 (hereinafter referred to as “the Constitution”) as well as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. These rights include, but are not limited to:

The right to exercise our religion and religious beliefs freely (1st amendment)

The right to speak freely (1st amendment)

The right to assemble and associate freely and peacefully (1st amendment)

The right to bear arms (2nd amendment)

The right to be secure in your person, house, paper, and effects (4th amendment)

The right to privacy (4th amendment)

The right to be free from unreasonable searches and seizures (4th amendment)

The right to life, liberty, and property (5th amendment)

The right to be free from cruel and unusual punishments (8th amendment)

The right to due process (14th amendment)

A PMA is like a private family with the PMA creator(s) functioning as the head of the family and the PMA members as the family members. Just like in a close family, things that are communicated or occur inside a family’s private home and among other family members are private matters generally immune from and not subject to censorship or control by any administrative agency of any government unless there is a “clear and present danger of a substantial evil.”
